The Golden Hills Motel is located in Bendigo, in a quiet location amongst lush greenery and large gardens. A short 2.5kms from your door to the civic centre of Bendigo presents a wonderful opportunity to see the sights of this culturally and historically rich city. The accommodation is single storey with accommodation options to suit a variety of needs from the solo traveller to larger groups and families.

All suites are neat and well-appointed and have queen beds in every room. The combinations to choose from include Single Rooms with one queen bed (sleeping 2 people), Double Rooms with one queen bed (sleeps up to 2 people), Twin Share Rooms with one queen bed and one single bed (sleeping 3 people), Triple Share Rooms suitable for small families with one queen and one single bed (sleeping up to 3 people) or the Family Rooms suitable for larger groups with one queen bed and two single beds (sleeping up to 4 people).

Extras:

Cots may be provided on request for a small fee, dinner is available on request to your unit, wireless internet, fax and copy amenities and conference room available for hire. The motel also has a salt swimming pool onsite for guests to enjoy.

Bendigo Tramways

It’s hard to resist the appeal of Bendigo’s attractively preserved fleet of vintage trams. The Bendigo Tramways has been in operation for well over 100 years with 17 trams currently in operation for tours around Bendigo’s most popular hallmarks. The vintage ‘talking’ trams will introduce you to the Central Deborah Gold Mine, the Alexandra Fountain and heart of the city. Stopping at Lake Weeroona or the fabulous Bendigo Joss House Temple this is an attraction definitely worth booking whilst in town.

Chinese History

Bendigo’s earliest beginnings are shared with the Chinese community, whom represented a great number of local miners and merchants. Subsequently, the Chinese culture became a rich and integral part of the city’s history.

The Joss House Temple was built during the 1860’s using handmade bricks and local materials. This heritage listed building gives visitors insight into Chinese culture and beliefs, sharing their story and perspective on the relationship they have with this old and wonderful city.

Other examples of the indelible mark left by Bendigo’s Chinese community can be enjoyed at the iconic Bendigo Easter Festival or within the local Dai Gum San Precint, home to the Golden Dragon Museum’s preserved local arts and crafts.

Victorian Goldfields Railway

The Victorian Goldfields Railway runs directly through the centre of the state’s Goldfields region, bringing to life the historic steam train experience. The track weaves its way through magnificent Box-Iron Bark Forests and links into the delightful old townships of Castlemaine and Maldon. Refreshments and souvenirs are available for purchase at the station and you are warmly invited to pay a visit to Maldon’s Locomotive Shed and inspect its rolling stock whilst visiting.
