Popular beaches include: Eastern Beach, Portarlington, Indented Head, St Leonards, Queenscliff, Point Lonsdale, Ocean Grove, Barwon Heads, Barwon Bluff and 13th Beach. Many beaches are suitable for families, whilst those on the open ocean are great for surfing.

The region is renowned for its delicious local produce. From family owned vineyards to organic farms, there are plenty of opportunities to enjoy some of it for yourself. Nearby wineries include Leura Park Estate, Terindah Estate, Jack Rabbit Vineyard, Scotchmans Hill and Bellarine Estate. We also recommend the Queenscliff Brewhouse, Little Creatures Brewery, White Rabbit Brewery, Mi Shells Seafood, Manzanillo Grove and Drysdale Cheeses.

Nature

If the beach isn’t really your thing but you enjoy the great outdoors, there are plenty of other natural attractions to enjoy. We recommend the Barwon Bluff Marine Santuary, Friends of Geelong Botanic Gardens, Yarrabee Native Garden, Serendip Sanctuary and the Brisbane Ranges National Park. There are also a number of golf clubs in the area (including Queenscliff and Thirteenth Beach), as well as Kardinia Park – home of the Geelong Cats AFL team.

Family Friendly

Geelong prides itself on being a family friendly location, so it’s the perfect place to visit when you have the kids in tow. No matter how old your children are, there is sure to be something to keep them amused – the Bellarine Railway, the carousel, giant ferris wheel, The Rock Adventure Centre, Portarlington Bayside Miniature Railway, Laser Strike, The Park indoor skate park, A Maze N Games, Adventure Park, Fairy Park and the escape rooms.
