Beaches & Ocean

Located on the coast, one of the main reasons that tourists come to the area is to enjoy the beautiful beaches. Popular spots include the local Surf Beach, Malua Bay Beach, Moruya Beach, Tuross Beach, Dalmeny Beach, Narooma Surf Beach and Broulee Beach. From swimming to surfing and snorkeling to kayaking, there are ample activities to participate in. There are also ample opportunities to fish – on the beach, off a jetty or by booking yourself onto a charter.

Nature

If the water isn’t really your thing, there are plenty of other nature and wildlife attractions to enjoy. Check out Cullendulla Creek Nature Reserve, Clyde River National Park, Observation Point – Batehaven, Eurobodalla Regional Botanic Gardens, Batemans Marine Park, and North Head Lookout. There are plenty of walking trails throughout the area, such as the Mangrove Walk or Corn Trail Walk, and whale watching is a popular pastime in late winter and early spring.

Some of our favourites include ABC Cheese Factory (where you will also find plenty of other local produce), Bodalla Dairy Cheese Factory (see the process from start to finish), Mogo Fudge and Ice Cream, Pearly Oyster Bar and Farm, and Tilba Valley Wines. Dine in one of the many restaurants to try some of the locally sourced seafood for yourself.

Events

Batemans Bay is host to a number of events throughout the year, many of which will draw hundreds of visitors to the region. Popular events include SkyBlaze, Australian Native Orchid Show, Eurobodalla Spring Show, Narooma Boats Afloat Festival, South Coast Nationals, Broulee Sand Modelling Competition, and the Great Southern Blues Festival. Markets are also held most weekends, from Batemans Bay Rotary Markets to Moruya Country Markets.
